Service Description

Learn to sew with knits while making what will likely become the most comfy me-made in your wardrobe. Sew House Seven's Toaster Sweater is one of the most beloved patterns in the independent sewing industry and there is good reason. It has expanded sizing, two variations, and is flattering on all body types. Once you make one, you will want to make it over and over again. Students in this class will learn to: Sew with knits How to determine stretch of fabric Learn to top stitch with precision Sew a raglan sleeve Sew on stretch collars and cuffs Materials are not included in the cost of the class. Student can purchase all of their supplies in our shop with a 15% discount and our staff is happy to help determine the best fabric for the level of sewer. If supplies are purchased elsewhere, please adhere strictly to the materials list. Students will need to come to class with their fabric pre-washed and their pattern pieces cut out. If you are unclear on how to cut out a pattern, you can sign up for our How to Read a Pattern Class on September 6 from 6-8. Prerequisites for this class: How to Read a Pattern, Sewing 101 or equivalent thereof. Students should be confident beginners to take this class but previous knowledge of sewing with knits is not necessary. Materials list: Intended fabrics: Mid to heavyweight stretch fabrics with at least 20% horizontal stretch Version #1: Stretch sweatshirt fleece, stretch French terry, knit boiled wool, ponte, scuba Version #2: Stretch sweatshirt fleece, stretch French terry, wool jersey, thick cotton interlock or jersey knit, stretch woven wool, ponte.
