Garment Sewing for Beginners - Part One
Learn to make a women's top!
Service Description
In this first part of our Garment Sewing for Beginners class students will learn the first steps in making the Ashton Top from Helen's Closet. In this 2.5 hours workshop, students will learn how to: · Read a sewing pattern · Cut out fabric for a project · How to transfer markings to fabric · Stay stitch The pattern is included in the cost of the class. Materials are not included in the cost of the class. Students will need to purchase the appropriate amount of fabric for their size (size guide and fabric requirement chart is available in the class gallery) and can do so at our shop with a 15% discount. Students do need to prewash their fabric prior to the class session. Prerequisites: Sewing 101, 201, 301, How to Read a Pattern or the equivalent knowledge thereof. If students are comfortable cutting out and prepping their fabric on their own, they can skip to Garment Sewing for Beginners Part Two. Students must have basic sewing skills and know how to use and thread a sewing machine to attend this class. We will have patterns printed for each student at the beginning of class.

Cancellation Policy
Adult Classes/Courses Class registration can be refunded 14 days before the start date of any class. If cancellation is requested within 14-3 days of the start date, a transfer of registration may be made to a different class or a credit can be given for a future class. No transfers or refunds can be made within 3 days of the start date of a class. Our classes and courses fill up quickly and are non-refundable within three days of the start date of a class. This is out of respect for our teaching team and due to our small teacher to student ratio. Refunds and re-schedules result in high costs in time and unplanned scheduling changes. Kids Monthly Classes Class registration can be refunded outside of 14 days of the start date of any class (less a 10% cancellation fee). If cancellation is requested within 14-7 days of the start date, a transfer of registration may be made to a different series or a credit will be given to your account. Summer Camps All summer camp cancelation and rescheduling requests must be made by emailing sewbo@sewboco.com. Summer Camp registration can be refunded 30 days before the start date of any camp (less a 10% cancellation fee). If cancellation is requested within 30-14 days of the start date, a transfer of registration may be made to a different camp or a credit can be given for use at a future camp or series. School Day Off Cancellation Policy If your child cannot make it to a school day off camp, we can issue a transfer of registration up to 14 days before the start date of camp. If cancellation is requested within 14-7 days of the start date a cancellation fee of $30 will be applied and a credit of the remaining camp registration fee will be issued for a future camp. No refunds, credits, or transfers will be given within 7 days of the start date of a camp.
