Garment Sewing for Beginners

Service Description

In this beginning garment class, students will learn to make the Ashton Top by Helen's Closet. This universally flattering and easy to construct top will teach students how to: · Cut out fabric using a pattern · Sew darts · Sew in a facing · Understitch · Sew with curves · Work with bias binding · Tailor garments to their bodies The pattern is included in the cost of the class. Materials are not included in the cost of the class. Students will need to purchase the appropriate amount of fabric for their size (size guide and fabric requirement chart is available in the class gallery) and can do so at our shop with a 15% discount. Prerequisites: Sewing 101, 201, 301, How to Read a Pattern or the equivalent knowledge thereof. Students must have basic sewing skills and know how to use a sewing machine to attend this class. We will have patterns printed for each student at the beginning of class. Students will cut out their fabric during class although students do need to prewash their fabric prior to the class session.

Cancellation Policy

Adult Classes Class registration can be refunded 14 days before the start date of any class. If cancellation is requested within 14-3 days of the start date, a transfer of registration may be made to a different class or a credit can be given for a future class. No transfers or can be made within 3 days of the start date of a class. This is out of respect for our teaching team and due to our small teacher to student ratio. Kids Monthly Classes Class registration can be refunded outside of 14 days of the start date of any class (less a 10% cancellation fee). If cancellation is requested within 14-7 days of the start date, a transfer of registration may be made to a different series or a credit will be given to your account. Summer Camps Summer Camp registration can be refunded 30 days before the start date of any camp (less a 10% cancellation fee). If cancellation is requested within 30-14 days of the start date, a transfer of registration may be made to a different camp or a credit can be given for use at a future camp or series.
