Their jackets are classic pieces that will stand the test of time and get better with age. The Field Jacket is Paynter's first make-your-own jacket pattern in collaboration with Merchant & Mills.
 
All seam allowances are 1.5cm unless stated otherwise and are included in the pattern.

Skill level; Advanced. (We have a blog post here, that shows you how to change the hip pocket to a patch pocket, this makes it an easier sew and also means you go through slightly less layers so you could use a thicker fabric.)
Fabric suggestions - We recommend light to medium weight wovens up to 8oz, cotton twills, denim, wool and dry oilskin. There are 9 layers to sew through during the pocket construction, so check the fabric you choose can be accommodated by your sewing machine.
