Intro to EPP (English Paper Piecing)

Service Description

Learn the basics of English paper piecing (EPP) by making hexies. You’ll learn the process of basting the hexies by hand sewing. Then, we’ll use the hexies to design your very own modern hexie pillow. You’ll learn how to arrange patterns by using quilting rulers and how to secure your design to your pillow form cover. Skills covered in class include: English Paper Piecing basics Basting Sewing together Designing a pillow cover Quilting the design onto a pillow form cover Supplies list: Required: 1” Hexie EPP papers Coordinating fabric pieces about 2.5x2.5 inches each (mini charm packs work great for this if you don’t feel like cutting your own squares) Hand sewing needle Fabric glue or Elmer’s washable glue Quilt batting about 20x20 18 inch pillow form Background fabric for pillow 1.25 yards Thread We will provide the below for class but it is handy to have these on hand at home: Pins Thread snips Wonder clips Spray Starch Basic sewing/quilting tools will be available for use at Sewbo during class time, but students who need to finish work at home may need additional supplies. Class Cancellation Policy Class registration can be refunded within 7 days of the start date of any class. If cancellation is requested within 7 days of the start date, a transfer of registration may be made to a different class. No transfers can be made within 3 days of the start date of any class.
